F5 create a pool and virtual server

The F5 lab already has nodes web1 and web2, pool web_pool, and virtual server vs_web on 203.0.113.10 port 80. This task adds a second application beside that, using the same TMSH shell.

Open the F5 lab and type the three create commands from the side panel. First, create /ltm node web3 address 10.10.10.23. Second, create /ltm pool app_pool with members web3:8080 and web1:8080 and monitor /Common/tcp. Third, create /ltm virtual vs_app destination 203.0.113.20:8080, pool /Common/app_pool, and profiles tcp and http.

Check the work with show /ltm virtual vs_web, list /ltm pool, and show /ltm node. save sys config stores the practice config. Disable a member with modify /ltm node web2 state disabled if you want to see a pool member leave service. This shell does not build GTM wide IPs or ASM policies.

Do it in the lab

1. Open the F5 TMSH lab in guest mode.
2. create /ltm node web3 address 10.10.10.23
3. create /ltm pool app_pool members add { web3:8080 web1:8080 } monitor /Common/tcp
4. create /ltm virtual vs_app destination 203.0.113.20:8080 pool /Common/app_pool profiles add { tcp http }
5. list /ltm virtual and list /ltm pool to confirm both the original vs_web and the new vs_app.
