Cisco IOS switch practice lab
This is a Catalyst 2960 style IOS 15.2 CLI for CCNA switch practice. It is not a real switch. You start at the user > prompt, enable reaches privileged #, and conf t opens (config)#. The dummy switch already has 24 FastEthernet ports: 1 through 4 in VLAN 10 named SALES, 5 through 8 in VLAN 20 named ENG, a trunk on Fa0/24, and an LACP EtherChannel on Fa0/22 and Fa0/23.
Practise show vlan, show interfaces trunk, show etherchannel summary, and show spanning-tree, then change a port from the side-panel examples. The goal is to see VLAN, trunk, and channel state from the CLI before you edit it. Guest mode needs no VIRL and no switch hardware. After a port change, run the same show command again. The lab is doing its job when that second show matches what you typed: VLAN membership, the trunk allowed list, or EtherChannel state.
This is not a Cisco exam. The hostnames, VLANs, and port numbers are training data. Sign-in only keeps the workspace.
Common questions
What is already configured?
VLAN 10 on Fa0/1–4, VLAN 20 on Fa0/5–8, a trunk on Fa0/24, and LACP on Fa0/22–23.
How do I enter config mode?
enable, then conf t. The prompt becomes (config)#.
Which show commands matter here?
VLAN, trunk, EtherChannel, and spanning-tree. Start with those before you change a port.
Is the trunk on Fa0/24 a production port?
No. It is part of the dummy CCNA config so show interfaces trunk has something to print.
